Have you ever had that quiet, almost unexplainable pull you feel toward something before your mind has any "logical" reason to reach for it?
This happened to me recently with Young Living's Release™ essential oil blend. And then it got confirmed in the most beautiful way. So let me tell you the story.
I have a lot of oils. Like, a lot. And I rotate through them depending on what I'm working on, what season it is, what a client needs, what I'm feeling and honestly whatever is within reach or closest to me.
Lately, when I go to grab an oil either during my morning routine, before a session, just sitting with my laptop— my hand goes right to the blend called Release™ . I open the cap, take a breath, and every single time I think: yesssss. This Oil.
It's that full-body "yes." You know the one. Just… that's the one hitting all the points.
I've learned to trust that. So I apply it and roll on with my day.
For those newer to the world of therapeutic-grade essential oils, Release™ is one of Young Living's most powerful emotional support blends. It's part of their Feelings® Collection — a line specifically formulated to support emotional processing and release (to explore that collection- click here).
The Release™ blend contains 16 essential oils in an olive oil base: Ylang Ylang, Lavandin, Geranium, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood™, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Spearmint, Lemon, Blue Cypress, Davana, Lime, Ocotea, Jasmine, German Chamomile, Blue Tansy, and Rose.
That's not a random lineup. These oils were intentionally chosen for their ability to support the letting go of emotions — anger, frustration, old patterns, stuck energy. The kind of stuff that lives in the body long after the mind thinks it's moved on (yes, Young Living is a company considering these factors as they cultivate their oils).
I use this blend when I'm doing emotional release work and bodywork sessions. It helps signal to the nervous system and the body's energy field: it's safe to let this go now.
So yes, I know this oil well. But this week felt different. More like it was choosing me.
My sister is a practitioner whose work includes applied kinesiology, aka muscle testing. If you're not familiar, here's the simple version:
Muscle testing (or applied kinesiology) is a technique that uses the body's own neuromuscular responses as a feedback system. The premise is that the body holds intelligence that the conscious mind doesn't always have access to — and that this intelligence can be accessed by testing how the muscles respond to different stimuli, substances, or intentions.
It's used by naturopaths, chiropractors, energy medicine practitioners, and holistic health coaches worldwide (I use it with my private clients as well).
She had no idea I'd been reaching for Release™ all week. No idea it had been my constant companion. I hadn't mentioned it.
And when she tested me — there it was. Release™ came up as one of the things my body was calling for to support me right now.
She flagged it. I laughed out loud.
Of course it did.
Here's where it gets really interesting...
The muscle testing revealed that one of the primary stressors on my system right now is industrial chemicals — specifically glyphosate, which is flooding my field and interfering with positive emotional flow.
Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup and other herbicides. It's in the food supply, the water, the air and majority of us are carrying more of it than we realize. You'll hear many speak about glyphosates burden on the body physically, yet you're less likely to hear anyone speak to it creating interference on an energetic and emotional level too. It can block the very pathways through which joy, peace, and ease move through us.
So when my body kept reaching for an oil specifically formulated to support emotional release and flow it wasn't random. It was intelligent. My system knew something was blocked and was reaching for what it needed to help move it.
That's the thing about the body: it is always communicating. We just have to slow down enough to listen.
My sisters and our inner healing crew often joke by saying "well on another episode of you cannot this stuff up..."
The intuitive pull toward a specific oil or supplement or practice, followed by confirmation through testing or kinesiology or some other form of body-based feedback happens consistently. Again and again.
And every time it does, it deepens my trust in the body's innate intelligence. We are not broken machines that need to be fixed from the outside in. We are self-aware systems that are constantly moving toward healing, if we give them the right tools and learn to hear what they're asking for.
Release™ is one of those tools for me right now.
Maybe it is for you too.
If you feel called to explore this blend, here's how I'm currently working with it:
The ritual matters as much as the oil itself.
